NPC’s Week 17 NFL Picks

It all comes down to this. One last week of football action before the real action begins. Seedings and divisional winners will all be won or lost this week and the best news of all is there is no Thursday night football to bore the pants off of everyone.

Here at Nice Pick Cowher we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Pittsburgh Steelers tirelessly but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just our pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game each week. We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.
Several playoff scenarios are going to play out on Sunday with only four total division races already decided by the end of Week 16. The NFC North will be decided when the Detroit Lions face the Green Bay Packers. The Falcons and Panthers will battle it out to decide who gets to be the sub-.500 team that gets to host a playoff game and piss everyone off this year.
The AFC playoff seedings could all depend on how the Sunday night game between the Steelers and Bengals goes. Both have already clinched playoff berths so whoever wins gets the AFC North crown and the other gets the 5th seed. The sixth seed could come down to San Diego or Baltimore, depending on who wins or loses.
The Steelers have a date with destiny on Sunday night. The Bengals will arrive for a prime-time AFC North showdown for the rights to be kings of the north. Andy Dalton and the Bengals think they may have shook off whatever prime-time jinxes they have on themselves by taking care of Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Monday night but the Steelers are a team on a mission and this has all the makings of a nail-bitter on Sunday Night Football.
Yours truly took the victory for Week 16, pulling into the overall lead by one game. Things are as they should be. Time to repeat my championship!
