Not the same teams

While this is the third meeting for the Steelers and Ravens this season when they throw down on Saturday night for the right to move on to the divisional round of the playoffs, Mike Prisuta explains that these are going to be two different teams then what’s faced each other before.

The secondaries for both teams are prime examples of the differences. In the first meeting in Week 2 the Steelers started Cortez Allen and Ike Taylor at cornerback. Troy Polamalu started at strong safety but by the Nov. 2nd rematch it was William Gay and Brice McCain along with Polamalu. The Ravens have started four different players at cornerback in the two previous meetings with the Steelers.

Harris ready to seize opportunity

Josh Harris wasn’t added to the Pittsburgh Steelers 53-man roster until mid-November when the team released LeGarrette Blount. ESPN’s Scott Brown explains that Harris is now faced with an opportunity of a lifetime if he gets the start on Saturday in place of an injured Le’Veon Bell. Harris can establish himself as a candidate to remain a fixture of the Steelers backfield of the future as well as justify the organization’s call for cutting Blount.

"“It’s tough because I just sit at home and say I wish that we could play now. I’m just going to take full advantage of the (preparation) time. I want to be that guy who when he had his shot did all he could to help out this team.” – Josh Harris"

Big Ben MVP, Why not?

NFL Network analyst Brian Billick joined the The Fan Morning Show on 93.7 to preview the Ravens and Steelers matchup for Saturday night. He was asked about NFL MVP candidates and threw his support behind Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

"“I man, his numbers – and you look at the success of the team as well – it matches anything that the guys that eventually might get it have done. So, as much as you’d like to have the romantic notion of a defensive lineman getting the MVP, it’s likely going to go to a quarterback. But, I’m not quite sure why we don’t talk about Ben Roethlisberger in that regard more.” – Brian Billick"
