What We Learned In Week 15 In The NFL:

Adrian Peterson’s bionic knee has Vikings set for playoff run

Ravens fail to show up offensively after firing OC

Patriots fall short of comeback against 49ers

Cowboys lose their pants but win against Steelers in OT

Well Steeler Nation, we’re staring down the barrel of yet another frustrating Monday following a disappointing Steelers loss. The Steelers have lost four out of their last five games and saw another chance to secure a playoff spot go right out of the window yesterday. The Steelers will have to win their final two games in order to make it into the playoffs. It’s true that they control their own destiny and as long as they win they’re in, but does anyone have any confidence left in this team? Before we go in depth about what went wrong yesterday and what the outlook for the last two weeks of the season is, let’s improve our mood by taking some cheap shots. (more…)

Aren’t Mondays so much better after a Steelers victory? The coffee tastes just a little bit better, the traffic isn’t quite so frustrating, and your boss isn’t that much of an idiot on a Monday morning following a Steelers victory. One thing is certain; this particular NFL Sunday had some great finishes and some entertaining games. (more…)

The circus that is the New York Jets will be rolling into town this weekend and based on how they performed in their Week 1 matchup against the Bills as compared to how the Steelers performed against the Broncos, the biggest question will be what can Steeler Nation expect to see Sunday afternoon? Unfortunately the Steelers are already dealing with injury woes with both James Harrison and Troy Polamalu questionable if not doubtful for Sunday’s game. The Jets are also dealing with injury issues that could potentially keep former Pitt star Darrell Revis from traveling to Pittsburgh as he’s coming off a concussion and hasn’t yet been cleared for contact. And then there’s Tebow. (more…)

What We Learned this week in the NFL Preseason:

NFL and Refs have some unsuccessful negotiations

MJD ends holdout and reports to Jags

Steelers cut roster to 53

Well Steeler Nation the regular season is finally upon us. September is here and if you’re like me you’re still recovering from the college football overdose from Saturday. Football is back and the air smells sweeter. There are so many things to look forward to for the NFL regular season, if you try to ignore the black cloud hovering over the whole thing which is the NFL ref’s labor dispute and the fact that the NFL will use replacement refs for real, regular season games for at least Week 1. This could be a disaster. (more…)

It’s that time of year again when I gaze into my crystal ball and pull out sure to be inaccurate predictions for the NFL season that is upon us. I’d like to say that there is an in depth statistical analysis that goes into my picks but it’s so much more than that. There are also my deep rooted biases and a hefty amount of guessing that goes into it as well. When it all comes down to it, those “analysts” that get paid to do this are pretty much guessing as well. There’s no way to know who’s going to get injured, who else is getting suspended, and who is just going to tank. Not since the Patriots in 2003 has the team with the best regular season record hoisted the Lombardi Trophy surrounded by confetti that same February. Just as the Packers and Giants from last season can tell you, it’s all about getting hot at the right time. So without further ado, here go my predictions sure to go wrong team by team for the 2012 NFL season. (more…)
